By Kim Blackmore—Trainer of NLP Coaching
Coaching has been taking off the UK over the past 5 years. Coaching has become incredibly popular in many domains, such as sports coaching, executive coaching and life coaching. Through teaching NLP, we teach many new NLP coaches and the biggest and most popular question is how to setup a successful coaching practice.
We also see and speak to many qualified coaches and there is a pattern of the same story; that they have great skills and yet they are unable to get their coaching practice off the ground or they are struggling to find clients or their practice is not growing.
As most people in business know, the best way to grow a business is through referral. As soon as you get one successful client on your books, you will starting creating and building your business.
Only have SUCCESSFUL clients
This may seem a little basic, however, you would be amazed at how many coaches take on clients because they need them or they sign up any client who wants coaching.
During our trainings in NLP Coaching, we teach people to say no! We teach NLP coaches how to recognize whether or not a client will be successful. It’s very interesting to notice, that, just because a client is paying for Coaching, it does not mean that
they will be successful. Only, take on clients that will listen to your instructions during coaching, who really wants to be
coached and is willing to do “anything” to be successful.
Develop Yourself First
Develop yourself so that you can get the best from your clients. If you haven’t developed yourself and train in the best coaching skills, then don’t expect your client to develop themselves or be successful.
Learn how to present and sell or make it easy for clients to buy..
The UK’s top coaches know how to present and speak in public. They know how to entrance audiences and get everyone listening and they know how to make their presentations relevant.
If you want a successful coaching practice, then learn how to sell or make it easy for people to buy from you. Remember, though, all the selling skills in the world will not help someone they doesn’t believe in themselves or their service. Or a coach that has an abreaction to selling their services.
Coaching Fees & Successful Clients
If you are charging £50 for a coaching session, then expect £50 worth of results from your client— unless of course, £50 is a major amount of money to your client. If your potential client cannot see the value in coaching or thinks that your charges are too high, then they are not the client for you!
Those that see the value in coaching will pay premium prices for having the best coach. Your successful clients are investing in themselves to generate more profit/income for themselves and their businesses.
Coaches who value and believe in themselves, will charge higher premiums for their coaching sessions. Your clients want to a coach that believes in themselves, in them as a client and in their coaching skills.
