Auto-pilot – If you always do as you have always done…

.. you will always get what you have always got.

and we are what we repeatedly do.

What will happen if you continue to do things the same?

Human behaviour is fascinating. We have a need for security and for certainty and through this need we create patterns of behaviour and habits to enable us to live on auto-pilot each day.

This is great, as the mind conserves our energy by working on auto-pilot. The thing is for most people, it’s easier to exist on auto-pilot than it is to go out and learn a new way of doing things or develop themselves in a way that brings them different outcomes and results aligned with what they want.

If we always follow the same routines and strategies how can we expect different results.

Consider, where is your auto-pilot taking you? Are you going in the direction that you want to? Do you set destinations and then deviate away from where you wanted to go?

We have to come off auto-pilot and re-evaluate how we do what we do, what our deeply held beliefs are and what is important to us in our lives. Or we risk continuing getting the same results for the rest of our lives.

As Einstein once said.. “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.

Do something different, change your programming through training as an NLP Practitioner.

Why Develop Yourself with NLP?

“It’s not what’s happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it’s your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you’re going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.” – Anthony Robbins

Why did you do that ? An insight into use of language

Why is an interesting question. How often do you ask the question – why? Why did you do that? Why did you do this? Why have you bought this? Why did you spend money on that? Why are you into that? Why didn’t you pay the bill? Why do you like that?
Why Why Why…???

Children get asked this question when they do things that we cannot make sense of. Why did you leave the taps running? Why did you cut your fringe off? Why did you leave your clothes over the floor?

Why elicits the motivation for doing something. The motivation is usually unconscious to the person and they simply don’t know why they do it and then usually come up with reasons or excuses of why they think they did something.

When you think about the question – Why, how do you feel about it? Does it have blame, shame, frustration attached to it? Many people have been asked Why? they did something with it feeling like they were being accused or blamed for something.

Shift your language when you are looking to find out the reason that someone did something or said something. Ask instead – For what purpose did you do that? What was the intention? For what reason(s)…. This will give you the real reason.
