What will I learn on my Indigo Eagle NLP Practitioner Course?

Indigo Eagle NLP Practitioner courses are thought-provoking, interesting, exciting, interactive, rewarding, challenging, motivating and fun.

You will learn many new skills, see yourself differently, you will really listen to yourself and others, open up a new way of thinking for success and break through barriers that hold you back .  You will be amazed to see how much you can develop, change and help others in just one week!

The content and the theory of NLP is fascinating, and will appeal to anyone with a curiosity to learn about others and about themselves. The application of NLP will enable you to positively change your thinking processes and your life; also it will help you create you positive strategies to deal with future challenges.

NLP at Practitioner Level can be learnt in seven days. The application of NLP is for life.

Our courses are accredited by the international American Board of Neuro-Linguistic Programming - the ABNLP and we exceed their standard requirements.

These are the areas of study that we cover during the pre-course study and seven day Indigo Eagle NLP Practitioner course.

Primary and Lead Representational Systems

We all communicate differently. During this course, you will find out how differently we communicate internally and externally. You will learn how some people communicate through pictures, some through sounds and some through feelings.

Can you imagine how different and enhanced your communication will be?

See instantly how the other person communicates.

Really start to listen to others and hear more.

Feel in touch with the other person as you communicate.

  • Would you like to learn more about how you and others communicate?
  • Do you like to picture it?
  • Do you hear what I'm saying?
  • Do you like to a get a feeling about it?
  • Do you build a picture from what someone says?
  • Do you recall what you have learnt from recalling the sound of someone's voice?
  • Would you like to know how you and others learn best - visually, listening or through doing?

Also find out how you and others access and recall data and information. This really enables you to know how you learn best. For some they learn through seeing, others through listening and then others through doing or a combination of each of these.

Eye Patterns

Would you be able to discover how other people think?

Did you know that people move their eyes to different quadrants, as they access information? For example, a person will often look up to access visually stored data or to the side to access auditory information. This is useful when working with strategies and we have strategies for everything we do! If you are able to read strategies and elicit strategies, you will be able to elicit a wealth of knowledge about how another person thinks and then be able to utilise it to work within that person's model of the world.

 

Cause and Effect -

Do you "blame the system", family, teachers, the government, your partner or anyone else for not getting what you want in your life?

Have you ever said or heard?

He makes me ...  She makes me ...  I really should do ...  I must do...  I need to...  I have to...   It was because of...   I can only do... that means I...  I am x

There is a wealth of information in what people say and what you say to yourself. One of the most powerful and important themes from NLP, is to learn to be “at cause” in life. This means taking responsibility for those things that have happened in your life; rather than putting responsibility outside yourself  and blaming life, your partner, your job, your parents, your upbringing etc and all the other excuses for being unable to achieve your potential. When we are at “cause”, we take responsibility for our lives, achieve personal power and we take control of our lives .

Being at cause, staying at cause takes practice and it will help you change your focus and more importantly your results in your career, relationships, health, fitness and family relationships; in fact all areas of your life.

 

Perception is Projection

This is another theme which we have brought into our trainings which originated from the work of Carl Jung. The world acts as a mirror of your consciousness. Whatever you are seeing, hearing, thinking and feeling internally will be reflected out into your world; giving you an external representation of those thoughts. A fascinating insight into the human psyche.

If you want to get yourself to cause fast; you can by adopting this belief.

Sensory Acuity

  • Have you ever looked at another person and "mind read" what they are seeing, thinking, hearing or feeling? 
  • How do you know that you are getting what you want and whether your communication is getting through to the other person? 
  • Do you know whether someone is listening to you and your communication?

What would it be like if you became an expert in read physiology instead of jumping to conclusions or mind reading what another person is thinking?

You will see the art and science of studying other people’s physiology during your Indigo Eagle NLP Practitioner Course. You will know what’s going on with the person you are communicating with and know the moment they have understood your message or they see what you mean, you will be able to see if they are really listening to you.

Become an expert at sensory acuity and utilise these skills during every communication you have whether it is over the telephone or face to face. You be able to see, hear, sense and feel that your communication is effective in the , by observing minute physiological changes in the other person.

 

Deep Rapport

  • Would you like to know how to build rapport with anyone?
  • Would you like to feel more confident in social situations? 
  • Would you like to build more effective and closer relationships with others?
  • What if you would communicate at a deeper level?

Everyone can build and maintain rapport with people they know and people they like. However, we often struggle or find it difficult to build rapport with people that we don't know or don't like.

Learn how to get into rapport with someone quickly and develop trust and relationships more easily. The skills will help you communicate your message effectively and at a deep level. Rapport is the basis of ALL communication. If you are not in rapport with the person that you are communicating with, then you might as well talk to a brick wall!

Also, during the course you will find out how to get into rapport with yourself. This might seem a different concept. Have you ever had a time when your mind and body seem to do the opposite of what you tell it to? It could be because of the way that you are talking and communicating with yourself.

 

Submodalities - the pictures and sounds you have in your mind

Would you like to be able to change the way you feel, your responses to situations or people and your automatic behaviour?

 

We have all had situations where we respond to a situation or behave in a way that we don't like or we see that others don't like. You will learn on this course, how the pictures and sounds that you see or hear in your mind are directly linked to your physiology, state and behaviour.

 

What's more, is that submodalities and the techniques using submodalities enable very quick and long lasting changes at the unconscious level.

 

  • For example, using the Fast Phobia Model, you will be able to remove the feelings attached to a phobia within 15 - 20 minutes.
  • You will be able to remove a limiting belief (such as "I'm not good enough") within 12 minutes
  • You will be able to change the way you feel in certain contexts - eg Nervous before presentations or irritation in traffic, within about 15 minutes 

By changing the submodalities we can change the meaning of an experience and thus changing the feeling associated with the internal representation. Submodalities are one of the most powerful techniques that you can learn for yourself and to help others.  

 

At Master Practitioner Level, you will be able to change Values and what's important to you. This will enable a very powerful alignment between your unconscious mind (goal getter) and your conscious mind (goal setter).

 

Master Language - have precise and flexible communication

  • Do you always get your message across effectively?
  • Do you find some people difficult to understand?
  • Do you get the feeling that you're talking to a brick wall?
  • Do you ever see a barrier in communication?
  • Do other's listen to you?
  • Would you like to learn to adapt your communication to the listener?
  • Do you rehearse what you are going to say?

During your Indigo Eagle NLP Practitioner course, you will learn how to utilise language through two models of language (Milton Model and Meta Model) and a process called the Hierarchy of Ideas to dramatically improve your communication skills and be able to communicate with anyone on any level. 

Were you aware that some people talk, in very small chunks, in detail where specifics are important?  Details such as figures, specifications, processes.

Someone who talks in small chunks will give you small pieces of the picture.

Other people use ambiguous and abstract language and they talk about ideas and concepts. For this person the whole picture is more important to them.

Your ability to adapt and have flexibility in your language will enable you to obtain rapport with anyone and effectively communicate. It will also give you new skills to be able to go through the boundaries of your own communication, find solutions to problems, see the bigger picture of your goal, purpose and business and also to chunk down into the finer detail to see the important pieces of information .

And for those that rehearse what they are going to say before a meeting, conversation etc; we will also show you how to use intention and focus on intention and flow your energy through your language and communication.

 

NLP Presentation Skills - a very different look at Presentation skills

  • Do you know how to structure your presentations to appeal for the big picture and how to effectively chunk down your presentations for everyone to understand?
  • Do you use your energy and state to hold your audience?
  • Do you use distracting movements unconsciously?
  • Are you presentations memorable to the listener?
  • Do you know how to entrance your audience so they will always remember your fantastic presentation?

Presentations skills - whether for 1-2-1 presenting or to audiences are a core skill for everyone. Indigo Eagle's NLP Practitioner course includes a section from our NLP Trainer's Training course; because we see how important these skills are.

Anchoring

  • Do you ever feel out of control of how you feel?
  • Do get into a state and feel unable to change it?
  • Do you ever get into an un-resourceful state, such as nervousness, irritation, frustration or anxious?
  • Do you get "out of bed the wrong side" and then have a bad day?

Would you like to be able to change your state whenever you want or need to?

See how easy it is to change your state through the process of anchoring.

Start listening to your feelings and then change them if you want to. If you are sitting in traffic and feel irritated - is that appropriate. What would it be like if you could feel relaxed instead or excited about getting to your destination?

What if you have an important exam, meeting, presentation, interview and you feel bad, nervous, anxious - is that useful? Through anchoring you can be in charge of your state and change your state to something much more useful! Such as calm, powerful, motivated, excited, relaxed, confident etc.

You will learn how to do basic anchoring, stacking anchors, chaining anchors, resource anchoring, collapse anchors. All of these techniques will be able instantly change how you feel!, in a state that is useful.  You can choose how you want to feel...

 

The Fast Phobia Model

  • Do you have a phobia of flying, social situations, heights, spiders, snakes or anything else?
  • Have you had a traumatic experience and relive it?
  • Does your phobia stop you from enjoying all there is in life?

We see many people who have had phobias for years. In some cases 20-30 years or even more. They have adapted their lives "because" of the phobia. Some won't travel to see beautiful countries because of their phobias and for others their phobia affects their day to day enjoyment of life.

Within 20 minutes, we can show you how to completely destroy a phobia including the strategy that triggers the phobia and the feelings associated with the pictures and sounds of the phobia. We have destroyed countless phobias with people that want to say no to their phobia and they now see a life without the phobia - which feels rather different!

This technique can also be used for traumas, accidents and PTSD (Post traumatic stress disorder). It is incredibly powerful and works every time.  

 

Parts Integration (Internal Conflicts)

  • Do you ever think to yourself, part of me believes this or feels that and there’s another part of me that doesn’t?
  • Do you have conflicting values - eg part of you enjoys money and part of you see money as wrong or part of you values choice and part of you values routine? 
  • Do you ever say, on one hand I think/feel ... and on the other hand...
  • Do you spend time and energy arguing with yourself in your mind? 
  • Would you like to know how to negotiate effectively?
  • Have you ever seen someone shake their head whilst saying they really want to do something?

Most people have internal conflicts or in-congruence. Their conscious mind is out of alignment with their unconscious mind. It is very noticeable and you may have seen this before when something just doesn't add up between what the person says and the physiology that you can see.

Through NLP you will see how easy it is to to resolve any internal conflicts.  Internal conflicts sap us of our energies and by resolving these conflicts you will be able to see more choices, you will have total clarity, think straight, get in touch with want you really want and hear a consistent positive voice inside your mind. 

This technique also forms the basis of the negotiation model for external conflict - eg conflict at work, within relationships, in teams etc.

Strategies - this is the programming bit!

  • Do all of your strategies work well for you?
  • Habits are strategies - it's easy to change a habit once you learn about strategies

We have strategies for everything that we do, from getting up in the morning to making decisions, sales, motivation, decision making, to eating, driving, cleaning your teeth, love, happiness, exercising and negative emotions – the list of strategies we have are endless!

Sometimes we have learnt a strategy that doesn’t help us; perhaps we go to a shop, see a beautiful item and get a great feeling and forget to check the price!  Or a strategy for eating or coping with life, that isn’t very helpful.All of the techniques that you learn on your Indigo Eagle NLP Practitioner course will change and impact your own strategies at an unconscious level. So that your strategies work in the way that you want and need them to!

 

Reframing

Throughout your Practitioner course you will learn the art of re-framing - see how easy it is to change, soften or shake up a statement or objection. This is a very important part in coaching, business, sales and therapy in assisting people to change and to answer objections.  Sometimes, you will even want or have to re-frame yourself! 

 

Effective Outcome and Goal Setting

Learn an extremely powerful way of writing and setting your goals.

  • Do you have feel de-motivated, uninspired and unsure of your future? 
  • Do you talk yourself out of doing things?
  • Do you find it difficult to focus your attention?
  • Do you drift in life or in areas of your life?
  • Want clarity about your future?

NLP at Indigo Eagle is taught with ecology and with an emphasis on teaching Practitioner, Master Practitioner's and Trainer's of NLP about Ecology and how making changes affects others around them and the wider environment.

We will show you the win/win of business, coaching, sales, education and therapy.

Whatever area you work in, we teach NLP to be used ecologically for the benefit of all parties involved.  It is important to know and understand set intention and create win/win situations for all.
